THE TIPPING POINT
Sometimes in life, there comes a time when a certain balance is reached. It’s almost like being suspended in space for, at that moment, you are poised between one side and another. You are at the tipping point. With this issue, we are at OUR tipping point!
In 1986, we embarked on our gaming journey by publishing the very first issue of Gamers Alliance Report (with a cover date of Fall 1986). It was a hard copy publication mailed out on a quarterly basis to our subscribers. We did that mailing 61 times! With the Winter 2002 issue, we abandoned that method of delivering information to our international readership, launched the Gamers Alliance website and, with Volume 2 of our publication, went totally online! The Winter 2017 issue of Gamers Alliance Report, the issue you are reading, is the 61st issue of Volume 2! So we have 61 issues of hard copy and now 61 online issues! Just like the scales in the picture, we have reached OUR tipping point, poised between the exact number of hard copy issues and the exact number of online issues. Now, that’s a lot of issues! But we’re ready to plunge ahead and, just as the scale in the picture suggests, keep “weighing in” on the best and brightest games on the market today – and even from yesterday – to keep our global gamers in the know with the inside “tips” on the games that will scale well with their gaming time, effort and money.
In this issue, we tip the scale towards more quality games as we build in ancient Egypt and in outer space, speed on our bicycles, get the royal treatment, go to trial and go after Hitler! Kevin Whitmore forges ahead, Joe Huber checks out the lay of the land and Andrea “Liga” Ligabue spaces out! Chris Kovac is off to the races while Eric Brosius fills up on fruit. Pevans goes to Rhodes but both James Davis and Frank Hamrick go west! Plus we welcome first time contributor Bruce Whitehill who sets his gaming sights on both sides of the Atlantic! And, of course, much more.
Until next time, Good Gaming!
