1941: RACE TO MOSCOW (Phalanx Games, 1 to 3.5 players, ages 14 and up, 90-120 minutes; $115.90)

1941: Race to Moscow (RtM) is a 2022 release from Phalanx Games and author Waldeck Gumienny (1944: Race to the Rhine).  Provocatively, players will take on the role of Nazi generals, prosecuting historic Operation: Barbarossa, the German invasion of Russia during World War II.  However, rather than focus on the fighting, RtM focuses on the staggering logistical challenges the German Army faced when conducting the invasion.  RtM is firmly in the “Weuro” camp of games – a game that is decidedly warlike but uses more euro-style game mechanisms.  This is not an old-school hex and counter game.
