Face (book) Forward

 

Face it. The world is getting smaller. You can credit (or blame, depending on your point of view) technology for that. Scientific advances used to create the internet, smart phones, Skype, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook have made it happen. While technology may not always be our friend, there’s no denying its impact. So, Gamers Alliance is once again facing forward – and when I say face I mean “Facebook”.

Since our start back in 1986, we have always included an Information Center as part of the Members Only section of Gamers Alliance. That center has been devoted to important game news: upcoming releases, mergers of game entities and other hard news concerning the vast activity that makes up our gaming world. And that’s the point. There is a vast amount of activity that makes up the World of Games.

The World of Games is multi-faceted. Games are more than business; games have a very human element too. It’s that human element that we want to share with our worldwide audience. One of the best ways to do that is through a Facebook presence and that’s exactly what the Gamers Alliance Facebook page is all about.

At its core, gaming is all about people. On the Gamers Alliance Facebook page, that is and will be the focus. It’s all about how people are affected by games and the effects of games on them. It’s a fascinating, never ending, story and, through Facebook, we are going to share it with you! If it’s in the news, if it’s timely, if it’s of interest to gamers like you and me, it’s going to be on the GA Facebook page. Not only that, the GA Facebook page will give you an easy to access place to make yourself heard. Express your opinions. Let’s have a little give and take – and a little take that too!

Now Facebook has been around for awhile and we may be a little late to the party – but let’s make up for lost time. Consider this another step forward as we launch our 29th consecutive year of serving the World of Games.

This issue of GA Report is a full house full of first class contributors to launch our 29th year. Join us as we spend some days with the Arabian Nights, pillage as pirates and juggle jewels in Jaipur! Chris Kovacs does some special operating, Kevin Whitmore takes a passing interest in railroads and Marty Goldberger does as the Romans do. Greg Schloesser makes some connections and Joe Huber prowls for a princess while Al Newman makes some apt remarks. While Andrea “Liga” Ligabue settles in, James Davis takes a novel approach to gaming, Frank Hamrick prints and plays and Pevans gets impulsive! Plus we welcome first time contributor Peter Sbirakos from Australia who goes from Down Under to Outer Space! And, of course, much more!
